Email Features

You will receive 100 Megabytes of server space for your Email. The average size for an email message is about 7 Kilobytes. Since there are 1,000 Kilobytes in a Megabyte, you would would have enough hard drive space to store about 14,000 Email Messages. Our server will automatically delete any spam email messages from the server after 30 days to keep your hard drive usage down.

Access your Email using Netscape Messenger, Microsoft Outlook, or any other standard Email client* using the POP3 or IMAP protocols.  Check your messages and manage your account away from home from any PC connected to the Internet using a standard Webbrowser such as Microsoft Internet Explorer.

Virus Protection

Your email account with be powered by IPSwitch's Imail Server and fully integrated with Symantec's CarrierScan™ Server for superior Anti-Virus protection software.  Symantec CarrierScan™ Server is a high performance, scalable, reliable anti virus solution.  The Email server scans your e-mail messages for viruses as they come into our server. You do not have to purchase or install any email virus protection software on your computer, although we would recommend it since there are ways to get infected with a virus other than through Email. Once the Anti-Virus software on our server has identified an email message as potentially having a virus, it is removed from your mailbox and a notice is sent to the sender to warn them that their email software may be infected with a virus.

*You may use Email Bouncer with your AOL account, however you must use a standard Email client such as MS Outlook or Outlook Express.

The Email server scans your e-mail messages for viruses as they come into our server. You do not have to purchase or install any email virus protection software on your computer, although we would recommend it since there are ways to get infected with a virus other than through Email.  Once the Anti-Virus software on our server has identified an email message as potentially having a virus, it is removed from your mailbox and directed to an administrator for review.  You will be to view a report of each time a virus is detected and blocked from reaching your computer.
