Mexico Collect Call Scam

Collect Call Scams Against People With Hispanic Surnames.

The FCC has learned of a telephone scam that originates in Mexico and apparently targets people in Hispanic communities.

Deceives consumers into thinking they are receiving a collect call from a family member in order to run up large charges on people bills for short or nonexistent calls. Primarily targets people in Hispanic communities and seems most prevelant in states like California, Texas, Florida, Arizona, and New Mexico.
