We added Charter phone service to the site today. Charter offers digital phone service starting at $29.99 per month. They also offer high speed internet service starting at $29.99 per month. I currently have Charter’s $29.99 internet service, and it rocks. I get 16Megs of download speed and at least 1 Meg of upload speed. That’s enough speed to make VoIP phone calls on my MagicJack, while watching movies on Netflix, while my wife surfs the net on her computer and my son plays Xbox Live… It Rocks!
Charter also offers bundled TV, internet and phone service starting at only $66.97 if you’re looking for a bundled plan. Charter’s phone service is pretty much the same thing as landline phone service, since a technician comes out to your house and installs it for you. Once installed, your phone service works just like landline service until it gets to the local Charter point of presence, or POP. Once there, it gets routed over the internet. BUT, since it landline until then, your 911 works just like your 911 service does now, and you can keep your current phone number.
