This is a list of local telephone plans offered by companies in the US. The plans include regular land-line service and local voice over IP plans. The local VoIP plans are usually a lot cheaper since none of the companies offering land line service can even come close to the VoIP company prices. Currently, the best local phone service deal is Phone Power's $14.95 Unlimited Plan.
Of course, if you really want VoIP service, you will want to get one of the unlimited plans that include long distance and free calling to Canada and Mexico too. Go to our Internet Phone Service page for a complete list of our broadband offerings. You can also go to our What is VoIP and How Does it Work page if you're not really sure if you should buy it or not.
Local Land-Line & VoIP Phone Service Providers
Monthly Charge
Description All prices are monthly unless otherwise noted. Most of these plans allow you to keep your local telephone number.
The broadband companies will take longer to get your number ported, but as long as they offer service in your area code, you should be all right. Some of the VoIP companies end up only having a couple of area code choices per state. In those instances you'll have to choose a new, out of area, phone number.
All of these plans are for residential home phone service only unless otherwise noted.
