Voicemail Plus allows users to set up a voicemail box and can access their messages from the Internet, e-mail or the phone. 911 Dialing currently needs to be activated to send location to 911 dispatchers. Caller ID with name allows users to see who is calling before they answer and is compatible with all caller ID units. Vonage also offers call waiting, 3-way calling, and call forwarding. Calls between Vonage customers are free with monthly service. Vonage is also a portable service. Users simply take the phone adapter with them and can connect to any broadband Internet service and the phone is functional. Calls can also be transferred to any number in the USA and Canada. This way users can transfer the call to a cell phone if they need to leave home during a call. Calls can be transferred before they are answered as well, so that no calls are missed. Vonage also offers Click 2 Call, which allows users to click on a phone number from their computer, then the phone rings and then dials the users name so that no numbers actually have to be dialed by the user. The saves time if there are multiple calls that need to be made. Caller Return or *69 can be used when the user misses the last call for no extra fee. *67 can also be used to block caller ID tags. Repeat dialing or #5 will ring the busy line until it is open and will then ring back to the user. Other features that Vonage offers callers are International phone block, which blocks incoming and outgoing International calls to avoid charges and ring lists, which allows users with multiple Vonage lines to never miss a call. A customer calls the business line but if there is no answer, the user can have the call sent to the house line. Caller hunt will switch the line the caller calls to if that line is busy. There are plenty of features that cost a little extra to add on each month. With Vonage, users can add numerous phone lines that can be added to one account, so the user only has one bill. Users can activate a virtual number for $4.99 a month in any area that is available. Virtual numbers can be set up so that out of state family can call a local number to reach the users. Users can have an unlimited amount of virtual numbers, each with a monthly charge. Vonage offers a SoftPhone that allows users to use their service from any laptop, PC, or Mac. Users can also set up a toll-free line that costs $4.99 a month and includes 100 toll free minutes. Vonage 411 is a directory assistance that is available for $.99 a call. The assistance offers phone numbers, directions, movie listings, weather forecasts and more. Currently, Vonage is updating their E-911 services in compliance with the FCC mandate, to ensure that location information is provided to 911 dispatchers. All of the Vonage services can be accessed on-line and web based accounts are set up for personal care. |
