Check Cashing Scam: You End Up Paying Your Bank Back
Wow, I just love a good scam, NOT! If you get an email from Ebony Marketing Research, you better run the other way, because this is the type of scam that gets people who should know better. What they do is send you an email with all of their contact info, including phone numbers, address and email address, and then they offer you a job. The job is to test out Western Union, or another money sending company, by sending money back to the guy running the scam, and you have to complete the job in 7 days to get your money.
So here's what happens, they either send you a fake $3,000.00 check, or tell you it's in the mail, but the "work" still needs to be done within 7 days, so you might have to use your own money. Then you either cash their check and send the money, or use your own money, only to find out in a few days that the fake check was junk, and you owe the bank $3,000.00, or you just gave away $3,000.00 of your own money. End of story...

Our online data source has identified you, through our affiliate Consumer Survey Specialist, as a candidate interested in an additional income part-time job. We are pleased to invite you to participate in a paid Consumer Research Project in your area of residence as a Consumer Services Evaluator also referred to as CSE. Consumer Services Evaluation is a tool used by marketing research companies to measure quality of retail service or gather specific information about products and services. CSE’s posing as normal customers perform specific tasks - such as purchasing a product, completing a business transaction, asking questions, registering complaints or behaving in a certain way – and then provide detailed reports or feedback about their experiences. Just about every kind of shop, service or store uses CSE’s to improve their service quality.
These businesses need to know what average consumers - just like you, think about their products and services, and they need to know what’s going on when management isn’t looking over their employee’s shoulders. They accomplish this by bringing in CSE’s.
Our company, EBONY MARKETING RESEARCH INC (listed with the Better Business Bureau) is a service provider for the Consumer Services Evaluation Industry. As one of our possible research personnel selected for this project, you will be under cover and visit selected businesses in your area and pretend to be an average customer. While there, you will secretly evaluate things like customer service, store cleanliness and product quality. After this first assignment, your salary will be reviewed upward to $400.00 per week for the first three months.

TAMARA BROWN - WASHINGTON, DC; 2. THERESA JACKSON - WASHINGTON, DC. The objective of this exercise is to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the payment system you choose to visit. The second evaluation assignment will take place in one of these major retail outlets: SEARS, WAL MART, HOME DEPOT, VICTORIA’S SECRET, JCPENNEY, K-MART, TOYSRUS, DILLARD’S, AND MACY’S. The objective of this second evaluation assignment is to determine the customer service quality of the retail outlet you choose to shop at.
This offer expires 7 DAYS from the day you receive this letter since the program is run on a weekly basis.
Once you accept this position, we will mail you a check bearing the required funds to cover your first assignment. After cashing the check, it must be expended as follows:
1. Your first week pay - $300.00
2. Your first assignment, to evaluate Money Gram or Western Union money transfer system - $2,890.00
3. Estimated sender’s fees, to be paid to Money Gram or Western Union - $170.00

Immediately after, inform your coordinator and fax your market report forms and all receipts to: 1-206-202-1107.
