Verizon Wireless Broadband Access

Verizon Wireless offers Internet access to their wireless customers through a PC wireless card that serves as a modem. The PC wireless card allows Internet access in over 40 markets. There is no designated area where Internet access is allowed, if the user is in range, Internet access can be used in a taxi, at home, or at a hotel.

The service is $79.99 a month with a Verizon contract. To gain access, users need to get a PC 5220 wireless card and a laptop. The Internet connection allows browsing, e-mail access and corporate intranet access. The Verizon Wireless Broadband Internet Access offers an average speed of 400-700 kbps, capable of reaching 2 mbps.

The Broadband access provides plenty of security including CDMA technology, which provides authentication and data protection. It is also compatible with many Virtual Private Networks.
