Virgin Mobile offers pay as you go wireless service that allows users to purchase the amount of minutes based on their needs. Virgin Mobile offers a variety of options, including a variety of cell phones and payment options. It's easy to start and there are no contract fees; users need to renew service every 90 days to keep phone in service.

First users need to get a Virgin Mobile Cell Phone. They are available at a variety of stores such as Safeway, Wal-Mart and Radio Shack. Virgin Mobile offers phones from Nokia and Audiovox, including standard phones, flip phones and camera phones. Phones vary in price and clearance phones can be found on their website.

After users purchase a phone, they must activate it and choose a payment option. Virgin mobile offers three types of plans. For those who only need a small amount of minutes, they offer the Minute2Minute plan. The first ten minutes of each day is $.25 each and then $.10 a minute after that. For those in need of a few more minutes there is the Day2Day plan, which costs $.35 a day and $.10 a minute. These minutes must be prepaid for. Users can load their phone with any amount of cash and can add more when it is needed.

For those looking for a lot of minutes there is the Month2Month plan. This plan includes 300 minutes for $29.99 and rates as low as $.04 a minute after that. Users who expect to go over their minutes or want to take advantage of optional features need to load extra cash to their account. There are no extra charges for roaming or long distance for any of the plans. Virgin Mobile offers text and picture messaging as well. Charges come out of the user's account.

Other optional features include Instant Top-Up, which allows users to instantly add more minutes to their account from their phone or the web. Auto Top-Up allows users to automatically add minutes to their account via a credit or debit cards. Users can choose to add minutes monthly, every 90 days or when their account drops below $5. For $90 a year, users do not need to renew their Top-Up their minutes every 90 days, they only need to Top-Up when needed.

Phone calls are provided through the Sprint Nationwide PCS network. Prepaid, allows the user to control the minutes used. This is the perfect plan for those who prefer a prepaid plan or is a great plan for parents to give their kids.
