Police Department Collecting Cell Phones

The Tuttle Police Department of Tuttle, Oklahoma is asking for your old cell phones. Why, one might ask? The Tuttle Police Department is asking for cell phones to give to the elderly as well as battered women for emergency phone calls. The "phones for friends" program distributes the phone to those who are in need. The phones will only be able to call 911.

Both elderly males and females are able to receive the emergency cell phones as well as battered women who have been a victim of assault, stalking, harassment, or those who have victim's protective orders in place. Women must have a complaint on file to be eligible for a cell phone.

Phones, both new and old, need to have personal information erased and need to be functional. Cell phones do not need to have service for the 911 phone calls to be accepted. Feel free to drop the phones off with the dispatcher on duty at the Tuttle Police Department.
