I Just Want a Regular Cell Phone, Not a Super Duper Smart Phone!

Not everyone is running around trying to look cool, some of us already are. And so, maybe we don’t need a smart phone, all we really need is a cell phone with a few extra features when we need them. You know like a calling plan with sports and news feeds during the day, perhaps stock quotes, and an occasional text message or email. Believe it or not that is all 50% of Americans really need, and it is very easy to get caught up in all the smart phone excitement, but prudent consumers are often those who do not have mega-credit-card debt.

So, if you want to really save your money, let’s consider some of the cellular phones which were shown at . Now then, one of the most popular phones is the Samsung portable “Quadphone” these were phones given away by AT&T and Cingular Wireless a few years ago. It’s your basic flip phone with digital camera, data capability, news feeds options, email (although cumbersome to use due to no key board), text messaging (also difficult to use), and phone.

It has all the features that the first round of 3G wireless system phones have, and it is one of the “free phones” with an 18-month sign up for service. They probably produced 10s of millions of these little phones. Well, today, you can still get a version of this phone, and all the manufacturers make phones almost exactly like this including; Motorola, LG, HTC, Nokia, Sony, Sanyo, etc. No, you won’t find Google or Apple making the lower end phones, they just like to sell to trendy spend thrifts.

And I am not saying there is anything wrong with first or early adopters of new technology, if that is what you are into. But if you are not, then you might consider the “free phone” option and think on this, when you sign up with your calling plan.
