Cell phone service is practically a necessity when you have a growing family. Teenagers need a way to contact mom or dad or call 911 in an emergency. Having a cell phone is not a luxury anymore. When you have made the decision to get a family cell phone plan, the task then is deciding which service provider to choose. Selecting a plan that meets the needs of your family and fits your price range is key.

The approach to determining the ideal provider is to conduct a comparison of their family cell phone plans. The one that delivers the best value for the money will be the best one to pick. These examples below show the features and prices of T-Mobile and Verizon family plans. Both are reputable service providers but one may have more to offer. It is always a good idea to research any company you plan to put money in.

T-Mobile Classic Family Unlimited Plus (2-line, shared)

Features:

Unlimited T-Mobile-to-T-Mobile Calling

Unlimited Nights and Weekends

Nationwide Long Distance

Caller ID

Voice Mail

Call Waiting, Call Hold, 3-Way Calling

Monthly Charges: $139.98

Fees: $36 activation fee, $200 early termination fee

Unique Benefits: No Roaming Charges

Verizon Nationwide Voice and Messaging Unlimited (2-line, shared)

Features:

Unlimited Messaging (text, picture, video) to Any Network

Unlimited Mobile-to-mobile

Unlimited Nights and Weekends

Nationwide Long Distance

Mobile Web Pay-Per-Use @1.99 per MB

Caller ID

Call Waiting, Call Forwarding, 3-Way Calling

Monthly Charges: $149.98

Fees: $35 activation, $350 early termination fee

Unique Benefits: No Roaming Charges on the Verizon Wireless Network

Conclusions:

Based on the information above, it would seem like T-Mobile offers a good service and at a lower monthly charge. However, even though it is $10 more, Verizon has included text, picture and video messaging in the plan and T-Mobile has not. Text and picture messaging are optional and added onto the plan for an extra charge. T-Mobile does include unlimited web browsing while Verizon charges for data service. In determining the right plan for you, you will need to decide what feature you need and which ones you do not mind paying extra for.

Who has the cheapest family cell phone plans between T-Mobile, Sprint and Verizon? Unlimited family plans offer the best benefits for the money, but which plan is actually the cheapest? Well, we did a little research, and the cheapest unlimited 2 line plan comes from T-Mobile for $139.98 per month. This T-Mobile plan comes with unlimited texting, pictures, video messaging and more.

Shared plans are for two or more phones and users can opt for additional lines for a low monthly fee. Parents can get a phone for each member of the family on the same account. This is a cheaper option than paying for individual plans. Most unlimited plans come with the most frequently used features, like caller ID and call waiting.

Visit www.calling-plans.com for more information on unlimited home phone service, VoIP phone service, business conference calling and bundled cable TV, high speed internet and digital phone service.

Sony Ericsson is planning to re-brand to Sony in the Middle of 2012. Rumors are that with this re-branding, it will come up with a new phone with just a Sony logo on top. The phone will succeed the current Sony Ericsson Nozomi which has almost disappeared. Glancing at the specs of the new entry, Nyphone will come with a 1GHz dual-core U8500 chip-set developed by one of their subsidiaries. A 4 inch HD display, 8 megapixel camera having back-lit sensors, 1GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage capacity should make this phone worth to your money.

The Android operating system from Google will add let users add apps to enhance the phone’s features. Initially it will be loaded with Android Ginger-bread, and later on Android 4.0 Ice cream Sandwich is expected to replace Ginger-bread.

The Droid X is for users who need all of the normal web browsing and messaging features expected from a smartphone but who also need amazing high definition video playback and capture features. This phone is awesome!

The Droid X has a high resolution touchscreen with an incredible 4.3 inch edge to edge display. It runs on Android 2.1 and has a 1GHz processor so it is a really fast phone. It comes with 8GB of internal memory and a preinstalled 16GB micro-SD card. It can also double as a 3G mobile hotspot with a subscription so you can use it to provide WiFi for up to 5 devices.

The Droid X smartphone was built for video. It delivers video viewing and video capturing experiences. It has a high definition, high resolution widescreen for watching video. Its camcorder shoots 720p video and utilizes 3 microphones, a front mic, a back mic and a mic on top to take visually stunning video and get great audio quality.

You can use three video scenario modes to adjust the mic configuration to match the environment that you’re shooting in.

Narrative mode turns the volume from the back mic down so that most of the audio captured is focused on your voice.

Outdoors mode uses both the front and the back mics to get all of the sound.

And subject mode focuses volume recording on the back mic so that the majority of the audio capture is on the person or thing you are shooting.

Bottomline, the X takes great looking and great sounding video plus the HDMI output lets you run the hi-def video from your phone to a TV.

THe X also takes great pictures. It has an 8.0 mega-pixel camera with a fast mechanical shutter, there’s a dual LED flash, autofocus, panoramic view and more.

The dedicated camera key let’s you start shooting quickly so you’re not the person fumbling to get your camera going while everyone else is getting great shots. The X makes sharing all those great photos easy with integrated photo sharing for Facebook, Picasa and Photobucket. Because the X is a Droid, you can customize it to be the phone that you need it to be.

It comes preloaded with several resizeable widgets and of course you can choose from thousands of downloadable Android apps and games.

One that is specially cool is, for a fee, the Blockbuster application will let you download and watch movies the same day they are available on DVD right on the phone. For music, it has the Android music player and has a built-in FM radio. As far as web browsing, messaging and contact and calendar management, the Droid X does it all. It has an HTML file based browser for surfing the web, it has push email support for Gmail, Exchange and Yahoo and it has IMAP or POP support for Hotmail and AOL mail. The integrated Google, Exchange, Facebook, Myspace and Twitter contacts put all of your personal and professional contacts into one single place which makes it easier to stay in touch with everyone in your life. The X has unified corporate and Google calendars then you won’t have to check between two different calendars to know what’s going on. So the busier you are, the more help you get from the X.

The advance speech to text functionality makes composing emails and status updates easier than ever. Just speak your message and X will type it for you. That will speed things up but swipe is going to help you move even faster.

Swipe is a new way to enter text in a touch screen. It uses error correcting algorithms and predictive technology so that you type a word by sliding a finger from letter to letter and you only have to lift of the screen between words which really increases typing speed.

The X is a power house for video, messaging and more. If you’re looking for a smartphone that handles all your messaging and web browsing needs with ease, and delivers an amazing mobile video experience then the Droid X from Motorola is a must have.

There are a lot of prepaid wireless companies which exists nowadays especially in the United States, like Net10 Wireless for example. They all have one purpose or one thing in common – for everyone to be able to communicate without hassle.

What people like about Net10 is that they can get prepaid plans – because, like it or not people want to be very practical about a lot of things – and you know that there are more important things rather than just spending it all on a phone.

You cannot help but deal with the fact that communication is important, but does one need to get a postpaid plan just to continue being connected to his friends and also his colleagues? This is why prepaid plans are being offered and also being favored by those people – especially, most especially – who have had the sad experience of being charged with something which they did not fully understand.

What does Net10 and their prepaid plan have that other don’t?

The fact alone that it is prepaid is good enough, but to add to that – for one minute calls, one will just get charged 10 cents – although there is a BUT or a downside to it, there are no discounts during night time or during the weekend – which mostly some other prepaid wireless companies offer. Although, if you did read the agreement you will know that.

This may sound not very good for everyone – especially the fact that one will not get discounted during weekends – but then again, nothing is perfect and you should know that there is a good side and bad side in prepaid plans – just like in almost everything else for that matter.

In terms of refilling airtime load for net10 easy minutes prepaid plans, one can just simply go to any refilling store for an activating card which can be purchased from one hundred dollars ($100) being the highest and thirty dollars ($30) as the lowest. Although it is very much important to understand that – like everything – has an expiration date. Like the thirty dollars will expire after thirty days – used or unused.

A lot of people always wanted to get a phone or a prepaid plan for that matter, what Net10 Wireless promises everyone is that one will not just get a prepaid plan but also have the convenience while using it.

This may be the perfect solution for everyone in the united States of America, because where most of the leading wireless companies such as Verizon, Alltel, At&t, T-Mobile or US Cellular – Net10 Wireless is there too.

Ten cents is all that will be charged for one minute calls even if it’s just a local call – nationwide long distance or even for roaming; although, like all the other plans for both prepaid and postpaid on whichever wireless provider you would be enroll yourself to – you have yet to call the customer service and have your phone activated for international long distance calls.

And to top it all off, Net10 wireless phones, whether it’s for post paid or prepaid, come with colored screens.

If you think that Net10 wireless is the network for you, then all you have to do is to check it out and determine for yourself.

I picked up a couple 32GB HP Touchpads over the weekend from someone who ordered more than they needed. So far, I’ve set up my Skype account and had a video conference with my sick daughter. (Of course, she was just on the couch in the other room, but that was better than having to actually go in there and face THE SICKNESS!)

I also set up my GPS and email, so I’ll be able to work from Belize when I get there. I’m currently in the process of downloading books from Amazon so I have something to read, and downloading game and Spanish translation apps from HP (and yes, I know that the official language of Belize is English). I was told there was an app that lets me mirror my desktop, and I’d like to find it, since I can’t run Netflix or Hulu from the Touchpad.

I watched a video on overclocking the processor on the Touchpad, since the native speed of the processor is 1.5 GHz, not the 1.2 GHz that they have them set at. It’s supposed to just take 30 minutes or so, but I’m not sure if I feel up to it or not… I also heard rumors that there is a hack to dual boot to Android, and that’ll be cool if I can figure it out.

In the meantime, I don’t like the fact that the Touchpad doesn’t have an outward facing camera, and there aren’t very many apps, but for $199, it’s hard to justify whining about what it doesn’t have.

Is your Facebook addiction getting a little out of hand, then head over to Shmeed.com and get their free Facebook Blocker Application. The cool thing about the app is that it blocks you from visiting Facebook for a set amount of time, and nothing you do will let you get around it. The minimum time limit you can set it for is 45 minutes.

The Facebook blocker app works on laptops and desktops, and there is also a compatibility feature so you can check if it will run on your device. If it doesn’t, then maybe you could float them a few bucks and they could fix it to work on yours. If we’re lucky, they’ll soon build an app that lets us block our choice of websites, email, cell phones and other apps. Can you imagine how much the world would get done if you could block Angry Birds? LOL

According to a story in Bloomberg’s tech section, it looks like Sprint is going to offer unlimited data and calling plans to new iPhone 5 users. Sprint already offers unlimited plans to Android users, and since Androiders tend to use more data than iPhoners [Nielsen.com], the plan shouldn’t cost much less or more than the $99.99 that Sprint is charging now.

When I checked Consumer Reports to see what they thought of Sprints cell phone service, they reported that it was good in most cities that they got reader responses from. AT&T ranked the worst, and TMobile and Verizon were right there with Sprint (Sprint tied with Verizon, who is usually the carrier out front…). If this thinking holds true for consumers who haven’t signed a contract yet, then Sprint should make major headway in signing up iPhone 5 users. They may even get a large chunk of AT&T’s current iPhone users, if they are unhappy with the quality of their AT&T cell phone service.

And finally, according to a Sprint insider report on SprintFeed.com, There is an employee vacation/time-off blackout from September 30th to October 15th, 2011. The thoughts are that those dates cover the initial launch of Sprint’s iPhone5. Of course, if that’s true, then my guess would be a release date of October 1st oe 2nd, since they will want a little time to train their store reps in all the coolness that will be iPhone5. But, according to my wife, I’ve never been right in my life, so we’ll have to wait and see…

What are your thoughts on the new iPhone5? Are you going to buy an iPhone5, or are your going to stick with your old iPhone4? Add a comment bellow and let the world know your thoughts on the new Sprint iPhone 5.
