  1. Business Agent says:

I know a guy who does this with around 10 business products, including power, gas, business supplies, insurance and more. He can earn a real good living with just a few clients each year, and he can save them a ton.

  2. It is a little misleading to say that an audit is “free” to a customer. There is always a fee, either contingency (i.e. % of savings found) or a flat fee for the audit. Better to say that there is no upfront cost to get an audit started, and X of savings are shared for X months to the auditing firm. If a client is simply looking for advice to a problem, an hourly rate may apply for the consulting expertise. But saying something is “free” gives the wrong impression and will most likely steer a client away. If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.

Good point. You are right, there is no such thing as a free lunch. If I do something for you, even if you don’t pay me directly, I’m getting something for it from someone…
