Wynn First to use VoIP Phone in Hotel

Steve Wynn has teamed up with Avaya, a VoIP phone provider, to provide the first hotel navigational phone at the convenience of every guest who stays at the new Wynn Las Vegas. The phone is linked to the hotel's room management system and is customized at check in and cleared at check out.

The phones provide a display screen and allow guests to scroll through information without having to pick up the phone and call. Information includes dining information, show times, and more. The Avaya display phone is designed to be a personal gateway to the hotel and its lush amenities.

The VoIP telephone is also connected to a USB printer, which can be used as a fax machine. For the weary travelers or those who aren't ready for the new technology a regular analog phone proved in the room as well.

The Wynn is giant new hotel that opened in April 2005 in Las Vegas. The hotel offers many new technology driven improvements, in hopes of providing better customer service for its guests.
